Sex Trade: The Virgin Trade
How bad is the sex trade business? Lets consider Thailand. There are estimates of up to 2.8 million people working in the sex trade in the country of Thailand. A provoking documentary is periodically airing on Link TV as part of the “Spotlight” series entitled “The Virgin Trade“. The Virgin Trade considers a serious social issue; the abuse of young women living in impoverished countries who are in need of money. Who is at the bottom of this serious abuse of women? Who is the blame? Is it ok to participate in this exploitation of women if it is agreed to by them? In this context, is this activity even exploitation? Filmmaker Stuart Kershaw does an astounding job of exploring these questions. I encourage you to watch this thought provoking video and comment back.
