Liberty vs Tyranny

July 7, 2014

Think on the following quote in light of the definition of Liberty: “the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views including, freedom, autonomy, sovereignty, self-government, self-rule, self-determination.

Quote:
@famousquotenet: Liberty is liberty, not equality or fairness or justice or human happiness or a quiet conscience. – Sir Isaiah Berlin
In all good thought; Liberty is the ability to be one’s self. If a people want Liberty then they must be willing to allow others in their midst to do things that may be distasteful, disliked, abhorred or insulting to the perceiver of the demonstrated liberty.

Unfortunately in my opinion, today’s society is not desirous of Liberty, but rather of protectionism. Hence, closely follows is the empowering of government and regulation which amounts to constraint or in the max slavery.
